Ein kulinarischer Streifzug durch die Pfälzer Küche
Über dieses Buch spricht die ganze Pfalz und die Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar. Vor einigen Jahren fand Alice Fitz auf dem Speicher des 1785 erbauten Gutshauses der Familie Fitz-Ritter in Bad Dürkheim ein altes Kochbuch, verfasst im Jahre 1825 von Magdalena Christmann, einer Vorfahrin der Familie. Da sie die Schrift nicht entziffern konnte, bat sie die mit ihr befreundete Journalistin Ulla Hofmann um „Übersetzung“. Die alten Rezepte, nach denen mitunter noch heute in gleicher Weise gekocht wird, erschienen den beiden eine Renaissance wert. Tristan Brandt, jüngster 2-Michelin-Sternekoch Deutschlands, aus dem Restaurant OPUS V in Mannheim, ließ sich nicht lange bitten, vertiefte sich in Magdalenas Kochbuch und interpretierte die alten Pfälzer Rezepte auf besondere Weise. Dieses Kochbuch stellt Magdalenas historische Rezepte den neuen Kreationen von Tristan Brandt gegenüber und weckt so aufs Schönste die Neugier auf die Pfälzer Küche. Begleitet werden die Rezepte von Geschichten rund um Magdalena Christmanns bewegtes Leben in Mannheim und der Pfalz zwischen den Jahren 1756 und 1835.
